Arrival in Delhi

I arrived in Delhi early this morning, and immediately took my life in my hands.  I booked a "pre-paid" taxi, and they asked if an Ambassador was okay.  If you don't know, Ambassadors used to rule the auto industry in India, but are no longer manufactured, and I thought it would be nostalgic to take my first ride in one.  The creaky chariot of death wobbled up to the curve and I got in and sat, or rather sank, into the old seat.  The poor springs could no longer muster the energy to hold up the slightest of passengers, let alone me!  When the driver would start out I could hear something, which I assume was the drive shaft, whacking against the underside of the vehicle.  Do I need to mention that Ambassadors don't have seatbelts?  I spent most of the 4am ride wondering what we would do when the unfortunate car stopped moaning under the effort to keep moving, and just gave up.  Apart from the possibility of the drive shaft bursting through the floor.  Fortunately nothing unfortunate happened during my trip and I'm here to tell the tale.

I'll post a few pictures from my first day in Delhi soon.
